My mom was an elementary school librarian, from the day I entered Kindergarten, until she in recent years retired.
There was a time when my mom took a sack lunch to work. Every day she saved and reused that brown, paper bag, which carried her initials prominently in large, black writing: “LS.”
One day I added another letter to her bag: “D.”
It took a couple of weeks before my mom noticed that she was taking a bag of “LSD” to work. She came home kind of mad at me that day.
