Junior High School is for most people a very awkward stage in life. I was no exception.
Maybe it was because of the adolescent growth spurts, but at school I felt like I couldn't walk naturally; my legs felt stiff, like the feeling you have when you try to walk in a dream but can't because in reality you're lying in bed with your legs covered by sheets.
In an attempt to walk more “naturally,” I tried emulating the stride of Rick from the video game Splatterhouse 2, swaying my shoulders with each step.
The first day I tried it out at school, while walking between classes, some jerk walking behind me mockingly called me “Big Man.” I gave up trying to walk “naturally” and resumed my normal stiff-legged stride until I eventually grew out of it.
